Nandan Transmission C-4 SAE 30 is hydraulic transmission oil formulated to meet General Motors Detroit Diesel ALLISON DIVISION type C-4 specifications. This oil is blended using highly refined virgin base stocks with special additives to impart high oxidation stability, anti-wear, anti-rust, anti-foam and the desired frictional characteristics in service. It is compatible with the seal material used in hydraulic transmissions systems.
Nandan Transmission C-4 SAE 30 oil is recommended for commercial power shift transmissions, industrial torque converters and automatic transmissions manufactured by AVTEC Ltd, Hosur, erstwhile power products division of Hindustan Motors Ltd, under licence from General Motors USA. Such hauling and cycling transmissions are fitted on a wide variety of Allison heavy duty automatic Transmissions fitted to On-highway and Off-highway equipments e.g. Dumpers, Scrappers, Shovel loaders, Excavators, Crawler- Tractors, etc., used in Mines, Cement quarries and Dam construction sites etc.
ALLISON C-3 specification is now obsolete (Current ALLISON C-4). The major advantage of current C-4 over C-3 are better thermal / oxidation properties, more stringent corrosion/ rust prevention properties, stricter foam control and better low temperature viscosity control.
ALLISON C-4 involves additional friction test with non-asbestos clutches as well as enhanced seal compatibility requirements.
